Are you one of the countless millions who are firmly attached to their love handles, much to their chagrin? You know the area I am talking about; the prime little rolls located directly above your hips on each of your sides. The funny thing is, how many of us truly “love” our love handles?
The biggest issue that we have with this area of our bodies is that no matter how much weight you may try to lose the love handles will still be there. There are many so called skinny people walking around today with their love handles merrily poking out even though they have such a low body fat percentage.
I know how angry and frustrating it can be for any of you who are literally working your rears off and still not seeing a change in your love handles. Guess what? There is an alternative that does not involve going under the knife. I have an exercise for love handles that will help you to tone up the muscles that are located under the area you know as your love handles.
Keep in mind that burning fat is accomplished only by aerobic exercise. If you have a good deal of fat on your love handles then it will continue to be there no matter how many abdominal exercises you go through. What exercises for love handles will do is to tone up the obliques which will help to decrease the amount of bulging that you have in that area. This will give you the great looking waist you are wanting.
You may be asking yourself right now, what could this so called perfect exercise for love handles be? I will gladly tell you. If any of you have ever seen the famous body builder Serge Nubret then you may remember his extremely thin waist. He achieved such a waist through the use of exercises for love handles especially the “Trunk Twist with a Twist” which was one of his favorites.
You may have seen people doing the plain, old-fashioned broomstick twist. This was often used as a warm up exercise. Rather than just using such a plain jane twisting motion from one side to the other you will be adding a little something extra. When you twist you should keep your head facing forward. As you twist to each side you will need to squeeze your obliques as hard as you can.
Believe it or not the squeeze you add to the twist will help you to tighten your obliques by a great deal. This will help you defeat the love handle monsters that have been hanging out on each side of you for some time now. To set up for this exercise you just have to do a few simple steps. Find a broom handle, stick, or weighted bar that can span your shoulders.
Place this across your shoulders and place your hands over the top. Place your feet roughly one foot apart and you are all set. Start the exercise by twisting your torso to the left. Make absolutely sure that you keep your head straight rather than turning it with your body. If you allow your head to turn as well you are negating the exercise that your obliques would be doing.
If it is possible you may want to consider placing a mirror on the wall in front of you. This will allow you to see yourself as you perform the exercise. You will find that keeping your head straight as you do this exercise for love handles is what adds that extra squeeze. It is actually possible to add even more if you so choose. Simply try turning your head in the opposite direction of your torso when doing the twist.
You should carry the twist as far around to your side as you are able. If you want to add even more of a “burn factor” to the exercise you can try this: tilt your bar downwards on the side that you are twisting toward. By adding this bend into the routine you will help to increase the work being done by your obliques.
Now here is the most important step of this exercise for love handles. Once you get rotated as far around as you can possibly go hold the position and try to contract your obliques as hard as you can. All the other steps of the exercise only serve to set you up for this part of the exercise which is the step that produces the results for which you are searching. After giving the love handles on that side a huge squeeze you can rotate to the other side and give it the same amount of “love” as well.
There are a few things that can go wrong with this exercise for love handles. The first of which is performing the exercise too quickly. You must take your time and make sure that you squeeze everything for what it is worth. Just turning from one side to another is not good enough. You must be able to contract the obliques as much as possible to see results

A twist is right! This has to be one of the most challenging ab exercises I have done. Thanks for putting it up here!
