The predominant exercise in abdominal training is indeed the basic crunch, I would even got as far as to say it is the backbone of any solid program. It allows you to build and strengthen your abdominals in order to achieve the much wanted six pack.
Most people don’t realize that doing this exercise for love handles may even help you decrease the size of your waist size…Is it possible? You bet it is!
Every exercise plan needs a solid plan, Start with Truth About Six Pack Abs!
A Key Point:
During the crunch exercise while at the top position, with your abdominals being contracted a hard as possible. Your going to need to breathe in and out very slowly, do this a few times. Making sure you relax all other muscle groups except your abdominals of course. This breathing technique helps to stimulate as well as intensify your muscle contractions.
Trust me when done the right way, you will feel the difference!
Here’s why its effective:
Your abdominal muscles are layered similar the growth rings on a tree, they surround and make up your midsection. During the crunch exercise, your contraction of the rectus abdominus are targeted and continuous. Breathing allows the deeper abdominal muscle fibers to relax and contract more freely with each breath.
Push Your workouts to the next level with Truth About Six Pack Abs, The NEW Version!
With each movement your deep fiber muscles are relaxed. Now, add in the fact that your squeezing your rectus abdominus so tightly during the crunch, that your waist automatically becomes tighter and slightly smaller. Get the picture now!
It really is pretty simple why this works to reduce your waist…typically most people’s abdominal muscles have a tendency to just get soft over time. Due to lack of effort or exercise the midsection will normally not remain tight. Your abs will slouch and protrude outward over time.
Making this small adjustment to your technique will train your abdominal muscles to maintain a certain degree of tone all the while increasing muscle tightness. Soon you’ll notice that even when relaxed your abs remain tight and your waist will visually look smaller!

Totally agree with this article, very good. To many people out there training incorrectly, doing to many sit ups the wrong way can cause damage to your back, slow correct breathing and most of all planning a good balanced diet.
